It’s through this photo that many of you arrive at my website and discover my work. And that’s a wonderful reward for me, because I specifically intended this photo to be—almost like a call, or let’s say, an embodiment.

In fact, when you search online for a cover or bag to protect your drum, you’ll see many product photos that feel rather lifeless and disconnected from the person who makes them. In fact, most of them are factory-made. In contrast to these practices, I wanted to offer a different image—one that truly represents what I make and the context in which I do it: the forest where I live and work in the south of France. This photo isn’t just a promotional image; it shows you how, as a drum guardian, I live with my drum in the forest and how I protect it when I’m on the go. I was very lucky during that photo shoot: a ray of sunlight fell directly on the embroidery, highlighting the sheen of the threads and revealing the different shades of this blue suede-like fabric. Since I was very pleased with this photo—and given the positive comments on my brand’s social media—I decided to continue this photo project.

With the help of my teenager, who’s always eager to put her photography skills to use, I posed by the riverbank with this bag featuring the Vegvisir embroidery, which stands out so beautifully against this natural backdrop.

That same day, I took this beautiful photo of another Ygdrasil—on green suede—at the same spot.

Of all the (many) photos of me wearing one of my creations, these three are the best. And they embody the visual identity of my brand and my values: pagan art, immersion in nature, and authenticity.
